The Cyprus Securities Commission introduces a Brexit Information Hub
The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) on the 19th of February 2020 introduced the Brexit Information Hub (BIH) on its website, whereby it addresses with a Brexit-related Q&A the compliance of concerned parties with the recently imposed legal obligations stemming from the expiry of the transitional period of the UK’s departure from the European Union.
The BIH has been launched jointly with the Temporary Permissions Regime (TPR) which permits UK financial services firms which do not maintain physical presence in Cyprus to carry on with the provision of investment services to eligible counterparties and professional clients in the Republic for an additional year following the expiry of the transition period, namely until the 31st of December 2021.
